Bahamas Travel Update

THE BAHAMAS ANNOUNCES UPDATED TRAVEL & ENTRY PROTOCOLS

TRAVELING TO THE BAHAMAS EFFECTIVE AUGUST 6, 2021:

  • Vaccinated Travelers
    All fully vaccinated travelers wishing to enter The Bahamas will now be required to obtain a COVID-19 test (Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR), with a negative result, within five days of arrival in The Bahamas.
  • Unvaccinated Travelers
    There are no changes to the testing requirements for unvaccinated persons wishing to enter The Bahamas. All persons, who are 12 years and older and who are unvaccinated, will still be required to obtain a RT-PCR Test, with a negative result, taken within five days of arrival into The Bahamas.
  • All Travelers will be REQUIRED to apply for a Bahamas Health Travel Visa at travel.gov.bs regardless of vaccination status.

TRAVEL HEALTH VISA FEES:
U.S. & CANADIAN CITIZENS/RESIDENTS

  • $40 (non-refundable)–for unvaccinated visitors staying up to four (4) nights and five (5) days
    Includes cost of Travel Health Insurance; a day five rapid antigen test is not required
  • $60 (non-refundable)–unvaccinated visitors staying longer than four (4) nights &five (5) days
    Includes costs of Travel Health Insurance and rapid antigen test on Day 5

TRAVELERS FROM ALL OTHER INTERNATIONAL COUNTRIES

  • $50 (non-refundable) – for unvaccinated visitors staying up to four (4) nights & five (5) days
    Includes cost of Travel Health Insurance; a day five rapid antigen test is not required
  • $70 (non-refundable)–unvaccinated visitors staying longer than four (4) nights & five (5) days
    For the duration of the visit, unvaccinated Visitors will complete a daily online health questionnaire for symptom tracking purposes.
  • The wearing of masks and social distancing guidelines remain in effect.

DAY 5 RAPID COVID 19 ANTIGEN TESTING (If applicable)

  • All unvaccinated persons who are staying in The Bahamas longer than four nights/five days will be required to take a rapid COVID-19 antigen test.
  • The rapid tests are easy, quick and will yield results in 15 minutes with results being provided electronically via SMS text message and email.

The Covid-19 Rapid Antigen test is available at Caerula Mar Club for resorts guests to meet the Bahamas Day-5 and US entry requirements. Please visit Guest Services to make an appointment for the test(s) to be administered no less than 48 hours in advance of the
due date.

Notwithstanding any health restrictions that may be implemented from time to time, all travelers abiding by these new protocols will be permitted to move about and explore the beauty and vibrant culture of The Bahamas beyond the confines of their hotel or other accommodations.

TRAVELING FROM THE BAHAMAS TO THE US (Effective December 6, 2021)
All U.S. citizens and Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) who are eligible to travel, regardless of vaccination status will need to provide proof of a negative Rapid Antigen Covid-19 test no more than one day before their flight’s departure.

  • Refer to the CDC website for the most current international travel requirements.
  • For unvaccinated guests staying in the Bahamas 5 nights or longer, your Day-5 RA Test may also serve as your US re-entry test if taken within 24 hours of your departure flight to the US.
  • Guests will be able to obtain the required rapid antigen test for $30 at Caerula Mar Club.
  • Before traveling, confirm with your airline exactly what testing and documentation they will accept for re-entry and arrange for the appropriate testing within the Bahamas.
  • Please visit Guest Services to make an appointment for the test(s) to be administered no less than 48 hours in advance of the due date.

TRAVELING FROM THE BAHAMAS TO CANADA
PCR testing is not available at Caerula Mar Club or in South Andros. You must make arrangements in Fort Lauderdale or Nassau for the appropriate Covid test for re-entry into Canada. For the most current information regarding COVID travel requirements for flying into Canada: https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid.

All travelers entering Canada, regardless of citizenship or vaccination status, must:

  • Provide proof of a COVID-19 negative molecular test result to enter Canada OR
  • Proof of a previous positive test result taken between 14 and 180 days.
  • Rapid antigen tests are NOT accepted.

    Accepted types of molecular tests:

  • PCR – Polymerase chain reaction
  • Nucleic acid test (NAT) or Nucleic acid amplification test (NAATs)
  • Reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP)
  • These tests use methods such as a nasopharyngeal (NP) swab, nose swab, or saliva sample.

    TRAVELING FROM THE BAHAMAS TO ANY OTHER COUNTRY (Refer to the current guidelines from your destination country.)
    It is the responsibility of each traveler to be acquainted with the government mandated travel requirements of the countries from which they are traveling and those to which they are going. Caerula Mar Club shall assume no liability for the approval of Rapid Antigen testing administered at the resort, or the documentation thereof. Refer to all applicable country government travel and health resources for the most up to date information at your time of travel.
